Did you know some mice can sing? Or that poodles and corn have a lot in common? What about pregnancy’s anti-cancer powers? Climate-resistant plants? What fuels AI? Are you really what you eat?
You can hear about all this and more at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s (CSHL’s) Cocktails & Chromosomes events. This series of free, interactive science talks brings CSHL researchers and their groundbreaking experiments to the stage at Industry bar in Huntington, NY.
After a four-year hiatus, Cocktails & Chromosomes made its triumphant return in June 2023. Since then, crowds have poured into Industry’s intimate lounge space on the last Thursday of each month to find out about the latest breakthroughs from CSHL. We collected some of our favorite moments from last year’s talks in the video above. And now, after a short holiday break, Cocktails & Chromosomes is back for more in 2024.
Jason Williams from CSHL’s DNA Learning Center takes the stage on Thursday, January 25 for a live DNA sequencing showcase. In February, learn about shapeshifting antibiotics with CSHL chemist John Moses. And in March, CSHL neuroscientist Benjamin Cowley pulls back the curtain on how the brain processes what we see.
